Much to his surprise it took several pulls to start (he informs me it has always started on the first pull and that he has never had any problems with it, which I genuinely believe) and when it did, it would not tick over/idle, he had to be constantly on the choke/throttle. We launched the boat (the jockey wheel fell off of the trailer on the way, so it was one of those days) and I held it at the side of the slipway whilst my friend got in and started it. So we decided to take it to the water anyway and see whats what. Anyways, we topped the oil up to see if more leaked out, which it didn't. When I arrived at his, we took the prop cover off of the engine and tilted it down, when oil started coming up of the bottom of the prop, my friend had no idea why, but wondered if there was a leaky seal somewhere and if this oil had acculumated as he hasn't had the boat out in around 6 weeks. ![]() So here is a little update, I arranged to go out with my friend in this boat today, as I would never buy a car without a test drive.
